Why do you hate me so?
I used SPF 40. I reapplied three times in the duration of five hours.
Still, I am sunburned.

And, the cruel thing is, it doesn't show up when you first come inside so you can't kill it right away. No. It's that tricky type of sunburn that creeps up on you like an axe murderer. Now it is all over my body. I am hot and cold at the same time and my skin burns like hell.

What a pleasant surprise.

I thought we could be friends, but no. If this is how you choose to act, then so be it. Don't think that I won't get my good friends Mint Tea and Aloe Vera involved, because you know I will. Then it won't be pretty.

Please, stay out of my way next time. Invite Cumulonimbus and Cumulus over and have a party, that could keep you occupied until you find your next victim.

I call Uncle.

It's August 12. I have three books to read in a month. Not too bad, but it's not great either. At least I don't have to write any papers! That's the good thing about these new rules for summer reading my school has issued out. We're just quizzed on them the first week, which is a-okay for me! :)

SO, GOOD NEWS! Me mumsies said that if I finish my college apps by October, I can see All Time Low...on a Sunday night! (GASP) How scandalous! So...I started my common app, and I'm already writing the essay. This may or may not be the apocalypse. I've never been so productive in my life. See, Alex Gaskarth? You're an inspiration to teens across America! Dads should thank you, not yell at you for saying you were going to "fuck their daughters!" (See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iugdZoIODLI)

The other concerts I may or may not be going to before 2010:

Owl City - 10% chance of seeing him. It's on a closed weekend so I actually probably have closer to 2 or 0% chance.

The AP Tour (Mayday Parade, TAI, You Me at Six, etc.) - 50% chance. The D.C. date is on a Sunday again (WTF, Fate?) and the Norfolk date is on Halloween, so doubtful my parents are going to let me drive in that area. We'll see.

Boys Like Girls/Cobra Starship/The Maine/A Rocket to the Moon/VersaEmerge - 1000000% chance. If only they'd put the freakin' dates up. I want to see this so bad; ever since AP Tour last year my love for ARTTM has grown exponentially. Nick Santino = love (See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUx-5l6OYFI from 1:54-2:37)

Wow, this is a long post. Maybe it makes up for my absense.

(P.S. Anyone catch Cobra on Conan tonight?...They kind of sucked. Maybe Gabe was nervous. Does he even get nervous?)

I vant to suck your blood! Meeerh!

......That is what I first thought of while watching True Blood. Then, like some kind of 12-year-old girl watching Twilight, I got sucked in. The world created in the show is fantastic. The southern accents, believe it or not, are tame. I have heard people from North Carolina that sound more like hillbillies and the show is set in Louisiana, for God's sake.

I'm currently on the tenth episode of the first season and I'm hooked so bad! I wish www.megavideo.com would let me watch more than 72 minutes at a time! What a random number.

Well, while I'm waiting, I shall traverse the internet. Apparently, WheezyWaiter (www.youtube.com/wheezywaiter) had to do a Ford Fiesta mission with All Time Low. So, like the true fangirl I am, I'm waiting for that to arise from the depths of YouTube.

If you want to hit me up, here are my deets, yo.

So, you may or may not have heard the news.

Panic(!) at the Disco have split. Lyricist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker decided that they had "evolved" in different musical directions than the other two (vocalist Brendon Urie & drummer Spencer Smith). It's a sad day for fans of the band, and as I know most are split down into the "Fever" side and the "Pretty. Odd." side.

Well, Ryan and Jon will be continuing "Pretty"-esque music while Brendon and Spencer continue Panic! at the Disco (with freshly reinstalled exclamation mark) and "devolve" musically towards their first album.

I, for one, will be keeping tabs on both musical groups.

I will say this, however.

"A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" drew me in to being a Panic! fan, and "Pretty. Odd." kept me that way.

And you can say that Jon Yoko'd the shit out of this band, which may be true, but at least everyone's still making groovy tunes.

3:42 PM. I get a message from Lyndsay on my computer. "Have you listened to the leak of Nothing Personal yet?" I decide that no, I won't listen to it. I don't want to get my hands dirty before July 7.

3:43 PM. Just one peak won't hurt...

3:44 PM. No, Caroline. Don't do it. Walk away. July 7.

6:02 PM. I post this on Twitter: "okay okay. i give up. listening to @alexalltimelow @jackalltimelow @zackalltimelow and @riandawson's album. screw my will power & the world."

To say that I immediately fell in love with Nothing Personal would be a lie. So I won't lie to you. I was not a fan of the first three songs, mainly because I'd overplayed "Weightless" and "Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't)" on my iTunes. Now, that's not to say I didn't like the second track, "Break Your Little Heart." I just needed time to...adjust. The immediate difference between All Time Low's first album, So Wrong, It's Right, and their second album is the amount of production. It seems as if the lead singer, Alex Gaskarth, has autotuned his voice to the point of over-perfection. At first, I was opposed to it. After all, isn't this what every band since your mother was born has been doing? Aren't they just tuning their sound so they fit the whims of the masses?

No. Well, All Time Low isn't. The further into the album I listened, the more I realized that All Time Low make the "pop punk" genre their own. Many artists (we won't mention names, Metro Station) enjoy the pop punk genre for the built-in fans and for the ability to mass-market. All Time Low really has fun. The tracks are great, and if there's any album where you can hear the band's emotions in the guitars, bass, drums, and vocals, it's this. They show off their diversity and strength (and, believe it or not, maturity) all within the album. I'm ashamed to admit it, but the last track, "Therapy," had me in tears. To put that in perspective, it's the third song I've ever cried to.

Nothing Personal is a roller coaster of emotions. It has you loving the band, hating the band, being disgusted by the band, laughing with the band, and crying with the band. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I love the album.

haha that was my pretend album review :) it's weird when i get serious about music, isn't it?

ahhh i love summer, even though i can't go to warped this year. but i will not let that bring me down.

i randomly found out that forever the sickest kids (ftsk) were doing a free show at my county's youth fest a day before it happened. so you can imagine me frantically running around my house calling everyone i knew (only one of my friends that lived nearby wasn't away, and she said she may or may not come) and touching up last minute details. it took some convincing to get my parents to let me drive myself since i've only had my license for about three weeks, despite being almost 17. then my friend called me and said she could go. party on.

we got there and it was the sickest (no pun intended...or was it?) concert ever. jonathan cook is a great frontman, even though i didn't understand why half the girls went gaga after him (sorry jonathan). austin, their bassist, is the silliest person ever. the band was just altogether AWESOME and there's no denying it, so haters step off. my friend and i stayed afterwards and hung by their merch table, which is where we met ziggy. he was sweet too and i semi-overcame my irrational fear of tattoos because of him. we actually got a picture with him because he was the coolest guy ever, and sometimes (well, most of the time) the people who run merch SUCK. ziggy was the opposite of suck, but he certainly didn't blow. he rocks.

THEN, vic and i had to skeedattle on out of there because it was 9:25 and she had a 9:30 curfew...and did i mention that she lives forty minutes away from the venue? so we ran as far as my lungs could hold and then walked the rest of the way to my car (i'm sorry, i'm unathletic). these girls next to us started asking us questions like "did we like it" and "did we get signatures of the bandmembers" and stuff. now, i had already given seven dollars to some random chick at the merch table because when i go to concerts i get in an incredibly giddy and carefree mood. sorta like a high, but not really. you know what i mean. so vic says, "yeah we got pics with all of the band" and i added "except caleb" (later on i found out we didn't get a picture with kyle either. sneaky bastard). then i hear this voice to the right of me say, "did i hear you say except caleb?" and i turn around, and this black truck has pulled up next to us and CALEB is in the passenger seat. so of course my "oh my fucking god" switch got turned on, and my jaw dropped to the floor. "you're fucking kidding me." i said, and he just laughed. vic and i took pictures with him (and he took some with the girls i was talking to; they SO owe me!) and then we ran to the car. i might've accidentally pressed the lock button a few times, but i don't think he noticed. (CORRECTION: i hope he didn't notice. he probably did)

so from that exact moment until now, i've felt like the luckiest girl in the world. it's an especially great feeling. the past year has been....tough to say the least. god took away two really fabulous people in my life, and it was hard on me and my family. to say that god made up for that with the ftsk concert would be superficial and ignorant, so i won't.

but, it was a nice thought.

So... I've kind of fallen in love with a musical.
And it's not your typical "guy meets girl, guy sings, girl sings, guy and girl fall in love" musical.

...I mean, that happens, but...

Let's just say that if musicals had genres, We Will Rock You would go under "rock", Lion King would be "family", Spamalot would be "comedy", Mamma Mia would be "pop"....

This would fit under "alternative" with the likes of Sweeney Todd.

It's called Razia's Shadow and it hasn't even been staged yet, but the album is so incredible that I want it to be so badly.

Now, before you go getting all judge-y on me, just go listen. The whole thing's on youtube and you can listen all the way through. Make sure you've read over a synopsis or two and checked out the official website. There are pictures of the characters on there as well as song samples. It's amazing.
